The custom design process begins with an idea. Perhaps you can’t find that perfect engagement ring you’ve been searching for or your old necklace needs a brand new look. At J. Albert Johnson Jewelers our custom design team will make your vision a reality by creating and producing a custom piece of jewelry to fit your individual style. When finished, you’ll go home with exactly what you’ve dreamt of, having been a part of the development of your unique piece every step of the way. And the best part? The price is the same as if you were to find that perfect piece of jewelry readymade.

To begin the process, we start by putting your ideas down on paper. Using a sketch from a napkin, an idea from your head or a clipping from a magazine, we can create anything you can imagine.

Next, we generate a 3D computer rendering of your design so that you can easily see what the finished product will look like from every angle. At this point, we work together to make any adjustments necessary to tweak the rendering to your taste.

Once you have approved the computer design, we are ready to grow a three-dimensional wax model, enabling you to try on your creation and again make any final adjustments.

The last step is to cast the final design in your desired precious metal, set gemstones as needed, polish to flawlessness and perform a final quality control inspection to ensure perfection. What started as just an idea is now complete and ready to wear!
